This was a quick one, so some of the details–paper on a cork-board, panels in the ceiling, detail outside the windows, neon espresso sign, etc–were left out. There’s a Starbucks opening in a new shopping center down the street from this coffee shop, but I guess it had to happen eventually. Besides Longs Drugs, I don’t know what’s going up in that center, but it might make that narrow part of Columbus Parkway congested.
I’m not going to lie and say I never buy coffee from Starbucks or other places like Peet’s, but that’s because I drive around the Bay Area a lot, and sometimes a person just craves caffeine whether it be in coffee or tea form. It’s just nice to have a local coffee shop down the street, and I hope Starbucks doesn’t hurt their business. Sure, sometimes the drinks are inconsistent, but so are the drinks at other places. I wonder how many of their customers will remain loyal with the competition opening up so close…
