Took at least five years off my life

Thank you Dell Support for not being able to do your job correctly.  I pride myself on being a patient person, and even when the customer service representative started to get curt with me even though I had done nothing to warrant such behavior (wishing I had a copy of our phone conversation to prove how respectful I was), I did my best to maintain composure.  Now, I check my voice mail on my cell phone to hear a “solution” to the issue and most of the message was cut off.  I did request that they email instead of calling back because I didn’t want to spend any more of my time on the phone, doing something that wasn’t going to fix the problem.

Why do things just stop working one day?  Software updates conflicting with drivers/firmware?  I’m not an IT person, so I have no idea.  Why does Dell have drivers on its website that don’t match the model of dvd drive that was installed on my computer?  Not sure about that either but my explanation would end in name calling and pure anger, so I won’t bother.  Someone told me that I shouldn’t bother with MACs when PCs can do the job for much less.  Maybe I just need to try a MAC for myself and forget all this Windows Vista hassle.

Dear Dell,

I’m starting to hate your products and your support.

Sincerely,

xxxx

Why bother writing this here?  I was supposed to spend my morning drawing layouts that are way overdue, and now that time is gone.  My ex-boss must be waiting impatiently for these sketches, and I don’t blame him.  Now, I just need to make sure I don’t throw this computer out the window.
