Feels good to finish a painting after all these years, and I’m happy with the choice of leaving the sweater and the hands only partially rendered. I felt if I tried to overwork those areas, that it would take away focus from the upper half. Now, if I can only do 10 more of these, I would have a good start for that show that Rivero and I are supposed to put on in the coming months, preferably before summer is over.
