A new local high school should be opening up next year in American Canyon, CA, and the Times-Herald ran an article about kids and the community deciding on colors, a name, and a mascot. One of the names submitted by middle schoolers? The Flaming Turtles of Destiny. Very dramatic, wouldn’t you say?
I just feel sorry for the kid wearing the mascot costume when they decide to light the shell on fire during the half-time show.

Wow, kids today can really think of some good band names. I need to read KD again. I saw the Nick & Norah movie and the characters also were thinking of band names. One of them was “Fistful of Assholes”.
