I’ve been craving salsa even though tomatoes aren’t in season here in the Bay Area. I do like the idea of buying produce close to home, but I ended up buying tomatoes from Arizona and Mexico at Berkeley Bowl today. The jalapenos were also from Mexico. The onions were from California. Key Limes were grown somewhere here in the USA. The cilantro was from Vallejo’s Farmers Market. Other than that, salt and pepper. Maybe I’ll fry up some corn tortillas tomorrow!
I couldn’t really post this under cooking since there was no cooking involved, so why not make a new category–”in the kitchen.” That should cover everything including any baking I might do. Maybe it’s time to go through all these categories and simply them.
