Hibiscus has been open to the public for four weeks now, and it’s been a great learning experience with some stressful nights. Unfortunately, two coworkers that I liked are no longer there. On the positive side, Dave Chappelle walked behind me yesterday on his way to the club–The New Parish–while I was washing my hands. I wish I had time to see his show because he is definitely one of my favorite comedians, but my shifts don’t end early enough. I also saw him in the dining room the other night as I was sitting at the community table eating a late dinner by myself after my shift; my friend had left early to catch BART.
Also, I passed Earl Grey on 80 East last night! He was picking up his dad from the airport, and I recognized the car and called him up to confirm. Sure enough, we were both headed home past 1am.
